A Survivor-Led, Person-to-Person Response

Nepal is facing a severe humanitarian crisis following widespread flooding that has devastated communities, displaced families, destroyed infrastructure, and left many people dead or missing.

Reports from communities on the ground indicate that the full scale of the disaster is still emerging. As communication is restored in affected areas, additional families are reporting loved ones unaccounted for. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the disaster has received limited international attention.

For Empowerment Collective, this crisis is deeply personal. Communities and families within our own network have been directly affected, including families who have lost loved ones or are still waiting for news of those who remain missing.

Our Approach

Empowerment Collective responds through a circular survivor leadership model grounded in local knowledge, lived experience, and person-to-person assistance.

Rather than relying exclusively on centralized aid structures, our approach works directly with individuals, families, and households to identify specific needs and deliver support accordingly.

Our survivor leaders particularly women with deep knowledge of vulnerable and underserved communities bring practical understanding of local culture, social structures, language, geography, and informal community networks. Their leadership helps ensure that aid is both culturally appropriate and responsive to the realities families face.

Direct and Individualized Aid

Funds raised through this campaign will support personalized assistance for affected families and households.

Depending on individual circumstances, assistance may include food, medicine, clothing, essential household items, livelihood recovery, and support for families who have lost loved ones.

Survivor leadership allows humanitarian assistance to move through trusted local relationships, helping reach individuals and communities that can otherwise remain overlooked within large-scale relief systems.
